‘Inspired by all things abnormal, paranormal, the mystique and the extraterrestrial’, Amsterdam-based digital painter and sculptor Danny van Ryswyk creates dark, surreal artworks using two and three-dimensional software.
To create his digital paintings and 3D sculptures, he blends the traditional techniques with the latest technology.
“I simply use the computer as a tool, just like a photographer uses his camera, or a painter his brush. For me, the computer is my camera, brush and canvas.
It opens a whole new world of possibilities for me as an artist to work with a medium that is so exciting and new.
Each work is created with 3D-software. I fuse the latest technology with traditional techniques.”
When Danny was a kid, he and his mother had a strange encounter with a UFO, an event that has left an important mark in his works.
The happening influenced him to explore ‘all things that exist outside the boundaries of science ability to explain or measure.’
