The Whimsical Textile Creations of Mister Finch

Fascinated by flowers, insects and birds and their amazing life cycles, nests, and behaviour, British artist Mister Finch (previously featured here) pays homage to these amazing creatures by bringing them to life from vintage fabrics.

Besides fauna and flora, Finch also draws inspiration from British folklore for his fairytale creations born from recycled materials, like a velvet curtain from an old hotel or a vintage wedding dress.

Finch uses reclaimed objects not only as an ethical statement but also for the charm and authenticity that they provide to its work.

Mister Finch has no formal training in anything to do with textiles or sewing, apart from a short art course he did many years ago. Everything he knows about sewing he learned himself.
