New York City-based artist Iris Scott uses her fingers to create vibrant oil paintings with a sense of movement which portrays fauna and flora, landscapes, urban scenes, and her trademark shaking dogs.
Iris had discovered her own impressionistic style one day when all of her brushes were stained with a deep dark blue and she needed to make a few adjustments to some yellow flowers. She didn’t stop to clean the brushes, instead, she used her fingertips to make a few quick retouches, thing that changed the course of her career. Iris never used brushes since but only her hands in a pair of disposable gloves.
“I knew within 10 strokes that finger painting with oils was what I would spend the rest of my life doing,” said Iris.
