Hyper-realistic Sculptures by Christopher David White

American artist Christopher David White began his career in the arts through drawing and painting, until 2008 when he started to work heavily with clay, and received his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Indiana University in 2012.

Inspired by materials in various stages of deterioration, such as crumbling brick, rusting metal and rotting wood, he uses clay to create hyper-realistic sculptures ‘that explore the relationship between nature, man, and the phenomenon of impermanence‘.

Despite these sculptural works appear to be made out of wood, they are handmade predominantly from clay, an element that has the ability to mimic a wide variety of materials, and rendered with acute attention to detail.
